MAR2PROTECT played a leading role in the ZeroPollution4Water (ZP4W) Cluster event organised as part of EU Green Week 2026, contributing to discussions on the future of water resilience, pollution prevention and sustainable water management in Europe.
The project was represented by its coordinator, Ana Belén Pereiro, who opened the thematic sessions by presenting how the ZeroPollution4Water Cluster projects are advancing integrated and systemic solutions to reduce water pollution and strengthen resilient water systems. Her presentation highlighted the importance of connecting research, innovation and policy to accelerate the implementation of effective solutions across Europe.

The event also brought together representatives from the European Commission, Water Europe and several Horizon Europe projects to exchange experiences on water quality monitoring, water reuse, circular resource management and the transition from pilot actions to large-scale implementation.
Through its contribution, MAR2PROTECT reinforced its commitment to supporting evidence-based policymaking and protecting Europe’s groundwater resources while fostering collaboration towards a Water-Smart Society and Economy.
