On Saturday, 14 June 2025, MAR2PROTECT participated in Port Day in Viana do Castelo, a public outreach event organized by APDL (the company responsible for managing the Ports of Leixões and Viana do Castelo), a valued partner in our Lima estuary LivingLab.
As part of the event, our LivingLab hosted an engaging stand in collaboration with CIIMAR and CMIA, designed to connect with the local community and promote awareness of the vital role that estuarine saltmarsh habitats play in ecosystem health, climate resilience, and coastal protection.
With activities tailored for all ages, the MAR2PROTECT team provided interactive learning initiatives and hands-on experiences that highlighted the importance of sustainable management and conservation in estuarine areas. It was an excellent occasion to exchange knowledge, foster public interest in our work, and showcase the collaborative spirit of the LivingLab approach.
We thank all visitors who stopped by our stand and took part in the activities and APDL for organizing such a successful event.
