MAR2PROTECT recently participated in the 12th edition of the International Symposium on Managed Aquifer Recharge (ISMAR) which is the leading global event focused on MAR research and practice. Organized by the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH), the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and UNESCO, ISMAR takes place every 3 to 4 years and gathers top experts and practitioners from around the world.

ISMAR 12 was held in Stellenbosch, South Africa, from 28 April to 2 May 2025. The event brought together MAR professionals to exchange knowledge, explore emerging technologies, and foster international collaborations, particularly with the African research and practitioner community.

At this prestigious event, our partners from Stellenbosch University, Danelle Botha and Douglas Archer, delivered two oral presentations related to the MAR2PROTECT project. First, Danelle gave a talk on innovative sensors for online water quality monitoring and then Douglas discussed about aquifer water quality characterization using analytical chemistry and effect-directed analyses.

We were proud to share the latest MAR2PROTECT developments and connect with the global MAR community.
