MAR2PROTECT participated in the 15th European Congress of Chemical Engineering (ECCE), the 8th European Congress of Applied Biotechnology (ECAB), and the 3rd Iberoamerican Congress on Chemical Engineering (CIBIQ), held jointly on September 8–12, 2025, in Lisbon, Portugal.
Our Project Coordinator, Ana Pereiro, represented MAR2PROTECT in this high-profile international event. She gave an oral presentation introducing the project and its key objectives to a multidisciplinary audience and also contributed with a scientific poster on sustainable water treatment highlighting MAR2PROTECT’s innovative approach.
The ECCE, ECAB & CIBIQ congresses brought together experts from academia, industry, and research institutions across Europe and beyond, focusing on chemical engineering, biotechnology, and bioprocessing. These disciplines are essential for developing innovative solutions in critical areas such as food supply, energy, healthcare, mobility, and sustainability.
Organized by DECHEMA e.V. in collaboration with European Federation of Chemical Engineering (EFCE), European Society of Biochemical Engineering Sciences (ESBES), Portuguese Society of Biotechnology (SPBT), and the Ordem dos Engenheiros, the event offered a valuable platform for cross-disciplinary dialogue, networking, and knowledge exchange, bridging the gap between research and industrial application.
We thank the organizers for hosting such a dynamic and impactful congress and for the opportunity to present MAR2PROTECT among leading projects shaping the future of sustainable innovation in Europe and beyond.
